Routine Auto Service – Air Filters

Are you looking for ways to keep your vehicle in good condition and running for many years to come? If so, then it is time to think about routine maintenance for your car. Routine auto service can prevent your car from needing much more costly auto repairs in the future. Quick and easy maintenance work, such as checking and replacing your car’s filtration system, can cause your car to run much more smoothly and make your vehicle last a whole lot longer.

Do you take your vehicle to an automotive repair shop for an oil change? If so, this is the perfect time to check the air filter in your car. All you need to do is ask the mechanic to check the air filter during the oil change. The technician will be able to tell you whether or not your filter is reasonably dirty and needs to be replaced. If it does need to be replaced, the cost is between $30 and $50. That is not so bad, considering the consequences of not replacing a dirty filter.

Having a clean air filter will increase your car’s fuel economy. It will also allow your engine to work at its highest performance level. If you do not change the filter, it can become clogged and the engine can stall. This is not something you want to happen!

It is also important to remember that where you drive affects the lifespan of the air filter. If you drive on dusty roads or live in a dusty region, your air filter will become dirtier faster and need to be replaced at an auto repair shop more often. Remember that although routine maintenance can seem like a hassle, it is well worth it!
