Pre-Owned Vehicle Lots Challenged by Women

When walking onto a used vehicle lot do you feel that the salesman think they see a sucker coming? Do they realize that over 50% of the cars that are sold today are bought by the female sector? This may be true but women are still considered not very knowledgeable by the sales staff when it comes to buying a car.

While some women think that choosing a used car means they want a particular color, one that gets the gas mileage they think it should, and definitely not a standard transmission, this is pounced upon by the salesman. The prospective buyer is shown a small car that it would take a man a day and a half to figure out how to get his body to fit in this car. But it is a good deal according to the dealer. After all it gets good gas mileage. But can you go from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds? Not in this car. You may be able to drive a little faster than most people walk but the important thing is other than the clicking noise it is making, this car is in good shape. Do you need a mechanic? Tips For Getting the Best Used Car Deal

It can be confusing and tricky to purchase a used car. If you lack the knowledge required to choose wisely, you can end up going home with a car that needs a lot of repair. You can’t depend on good information if it is given from people in sales. Quite a few are ready to say just what you want to hear, and you should be ready to see through their sales talk. In this article you will find some great buying tips to help you make an informed used car deal.

One of the best used car buying tips is to do some research. Read online information on how to find cheap used cars. Get quotes for any vehicles you are interested in, look at reviews of several makes and models, learn about trade in values, and look for any recalls. As soon as you’ve shortened the list to a few makes and models, visit your nearest dealership for a test drive. You have to make certain that your prospect has never been in an accident, its odometer hasn’t been rolled back, and that its overall performance is good. Likewise you must be aware if the car has ever served as a rental or taxi – those tend to have lots of wear and are bad choices for a used car purchase. Ensure that the dealership will stand behind any quality assurance policy.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts 12 to 16 tropical storms-of which six to eight could become hurricanes, including one to three major hurricanes of category 3 strength or greater-so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the weather.

Several industry experts have estimated that the number of flood-damaged vehicles from last year’s hurricanes could reach 600,000. To date, the National Insurance Crime Bureau has collected over 300,000 vehicle identification numbers of flooded vehicles from the Gulf Coast.
